I suggest you ...

A condition based To-Do-List

Locale really revolves around conditions and settings and a lot of these are already configured.

This would make for an easy To-Do-List plugin where the conditions used in Locale are used as the conditions in which specific tasks need to be executed (location, scheduled event, date etc.).
For example:
Condition=8th of march > moms birthday
Condition=parents > steal pair of socks
Condition=meeting > mention your new socks
Condition=call from mom > apologize
*Notifications for items would be set in the same way as in Locale (maybe having the setting to brighten screen as well as an additional indication)
**One item could be set to have multiple condtions under which a notification would occur (due date, location, scheduled event etc.)

        Just added an "idea" to vote upon, it sorta relates to this one though. It would be nice to have reminders based on distance from a target location. Like say I have a meeting at 2:00 at work. If I'm already at work, remind me at 1:50. If I'm at home, 30 minutes away, have it remind me at 1:20.

        Very good stuff! I tried it out this morning and it is exactly what I want from a geo-aware todo-list. It's still wastefull that there is a second app watching my calendar and time, but fortunately Astrid isn't a battery-hogging app.

        People, to add this. Install Astrid and create a tag (for example, for tasks you need to do at home, work, etc.), then go to Locale with the corresponding location and under settings, choose astrid and the specified tag.
        I instantly added a new condition for shopping with a lot of locations for malls. Then when I need something that I can get at basically any mall, I'll get an alert for Astrid.

        Good stuff!

        @jrt

        As far as I know, Geolife is permanently post-poned, due to the developpers pursuing other goals.
        Secondly, it is better to have as few apps as possible pulsing your location in order to save battery life.

        GeoLife does this but it would be great if locale could add it in as a feature...one app is always better than two!
