Motorola Droid dock condition
The Motorola Droid A855 has two dock accessories (desktop dock and car mount) which enable different home screens/modes. The request is to have a Locale condition when the dock is detected.

This is now supported with the combination of Locale 1.0 and the “Locale Dock Plug-in”, both of which are available on the Android Market in countries that support paid apps.
Locale 1.0 supports plug-in conditions, so many more exciting features are coming soon :)

I have two multimedia docks (one for home and one for work)
I would like different settings for both but I should be able do this by adding location to a situation

Exactly what I was coming here to suggest.
My default is to have the ringer on and vibrate.
When in the multimedia docking station, I need to remember to turn the vibrate off for notifications.In the cardock I need to turn my bluetooth on each time.
Not much work, but it would be nice not to do it each time.Thanks!

Another vote for a car dock detection event, coupled with the ability to enable automatic display brightness (and no display timeout) as an action. The car environment is definitely worthy of its own set of actions, and the car dock event seems the only reliable way to trigger them automatically... I'm using an ad-hoc manual condition to at least trigger Bluetooth on and no display timeout now. For manually-triggered situations/overrides I define a condition that always true (i.e. Time = 3AM to 2:59AM), put them at the top of the situation list, and leave them toggled off except when I need them.

It should be able to differentiate between the car dock and the multimedia dock.
I would like to be able to set something that turns automatic screen brightness on when the Droid is inserted into the car dock (but not the multimedia dock) during daylight hours. -

Consider this another request to have Locale support the ACTION_DOCK_EVENT intent. I expect other manufacturers will add similar desk/car docks, which would also use that intent. I realize that would be 2.0 only, but especially for the car dock this would be immensely useful.

There is already a program that can do this called 'DockAwake'
it is limited to setting the display timeout, but that's all I really need. I was getting really sick of trying to turn it on and unlocking it while i was driving!!
The developer is really responsive you could probably get him to add bluetooth

Having Bluetooth enabled when the Droid is place in the car dock for drivers would be an excellent addition. Especially in places like Washington, DC, where cell phones are not allowed while driving.

The BlackBerry Hoslsters trick the droid into thinking its in the car dock. I can FINALLY have blackberry style alerting for in and out of holster.

This would be great for the car dock. When you place the Droid in the car dock, you can have Locale turn on the bluetooth radio for your car kit. Is this possible to add? This could also possibly be done by detecting the launch of the "app" that places the Droid in car mode.
