Auto-Brightness

Brightness needs to allow/enable automatic brightness. Currently, have to set the level, when droid supports auto-brightness as well.

This is now supported in Locale 1.0. The Brightness setting now has an option to choose manual or auto brightness. If manual brightness is selected, then Locale will disable auto brightness so that the brightness can be adjusted.

Locale 1.0 is available on the Android Market today in countries that support paid apps. Full release notes are here: http://www.twofortyfouram.com/notes.html

Definitely agreed here. I believe a whole new crop of 2.0 devices soon will have ambient light sensors and have this similar need. This would tremendously help in battery management, especially when combined with a dock condition, although "plugged in" is sufficient as well.

I normally keep my Droid brightness turned all the way down (since that is generally bright enough) but there are some situations (e.g. car dock during daytime hours) where I need auto brightness.
