Calendar condition
At long last Locale 3.0 introduces the Calendar condition to detect events on your Google Calendar, Exchange Calendar, or any other calendar supported by Android.
While Locale 3.0 is available for Android 2.2 or later, the Calendar condition requires Android 4.0 or later. To learn more about Locale 3.0, please see our release notes here http://blog.twofortyfouram.com/post/19303488607/locale-3-0

@david.stenglein:
Android devices are not guaranteed to use Google Calendar as their calendar provider. Since Calendar is not a part of the public Android API, there are no guarantees as to what sort of calendar the phone is using internally. Some handsets might use Google Calendar. Others might use Exchange. And others might use a custom implementation from the handset manufacturer.
Therefore a network-based Google Calendar condition would be an entirely separate feature request from a generic "Calendar Condition" that works on all Android phones. You're welcome to open such a request, although it is better for us to wait for Google make the Android calendar APIs public than to create a custom web-based implementation simply for Google Calendar.

Given that this is such a wildly popular request, shouldn't you consider offering alternatives to the private android api? For instance, Locale already has full internet access, why not use the google calendar service to offer this functionality? It doesn't have the seamless integration that native android APIs would, but it is a very serviceable solution.
It is extremely disappointing to have paid so much for this app only to have very little functionality added compared to the beta. I paid for this app hoping to fund things like the calendar. Being pointed to another paid plugin that offers what everyone assumes should be core functionality for the product is insulting.

@Sturmeh: This feature cannot be added until Android supports it. See here: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/05/be-careful-with-content-providers.html
My reading between the lines: Google is going to make some massive changes to the private ContentProviders (which includes the Calendar ContentProvider) in the next Android update which will break everything.

I'm simply not buying locale until this feature is re-added. Currently locale is as useless as 10 other cheap imitations in the market for free. The plug-in extensibility is great but not when each plug-in costs an additional dollar. ( You only end up buying what you need, nothing. )

I've found the calendar plugin does everything requested here. It supports multiple calendars, the location field for an appointment, and most important of all it has regular expression support for the appointment itself. I made a situation called "Do Not Disturb" that uses a regex of Dr.|Haircut|Meeting. So any appointment with those terms in them will trigger the situation. The situation then turns off WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS radios, puts the phone in silent mode, configures GTalk to "Busy" status, and it configures the Google Voice plugin so that only my group "Priority" will get through while everyone else goes straight to voicemail.
The only shortcoming of this is that I've frequently scheduled meetings for an hour and then it painfully dragged on for 2.5 hours. Actually the same has happened with Dr. appointments as well. Any plugin of this sort is going to be dependent upon your ability to accurately predict the length of time a calendar event will be.

It was in the beta version- Why has it been removed? Theres no Free plugin, and we had to pay more for a app that was deliberately limited? WHY?
Locale needs to get its act together. -

I found Locale Calendar Plug-in v1.2 cost $0.99 didn't work for me. It would reconcise the calendar event but not do anything, also its very flaky, slow and crashes alot, not really at 1.0+ level yet more beta 0.4

There is a calendar plugin available in the market that does exactly what is asked for here. No need to put further effort here.

I spend a lot of time on college campus but not all of that is in class. The calendar functionality meant I didn't have to worry about turning on and off silence on my phone. I can't wait for this to come back.

I just shilled out $10 so I could continue using this application and it's missing this, one of the best features of the beta. Why is it gone?

I am waiting for this feature to buy. I loved the beta, but it is absolutely not worth the 10$ until this is finished.

I agree. The lack of this is a major deal breaker. Only if this is implemented again will I consider an upgrade.

The calendar feature was the main thing I used in the beta - i was very disappointed when I realized it was gone. I would have never paid the 10 dollars knowing they took out the most useful feature (for me anyways)

I would like to throw in my support for this as well. I paid the $10 and I won't refund the application, but I was very sad to install Locale, only to find that I can not use it, literally at all. Also, twofourtyam's attempts to nickel-and-dime through plugins is disappointing, but at least they do seem to add some value.
