Forums are a great idea, which is why we provide this feedback website forum and the developer forum.

For information about plug-ins, simply choose “Get Plug-ins” from the menu inside Locale. Additionally, we are working on including more information about plug-ins on our website in the near future.

In terms of support for Locale, users should contact us directly. To learn how to use plug-ins, users should contact the plug-in developers directly.

At this time, we don’t have the resources to moderate and manage a forum for end users. Instead, we’re dedicating our efforts to improving the app and providing great direct email support.

Any idea about when will calendar conditions be working again? I miss it, although I can do something similar with the time conditions.

@Mike: As an alternative, just try searching for forum for "cyanogen"

Locale's well-established plug-in architecture ensures that Locale can support practically any condition or setting imaginable. Indeed, there are over 40 plug-ins for Locale now available on the Android Market!

@carter: The link just takes me to the feedback forum, not to any specific post?

One of your competitors is "Tasker". While it's not aimed at exactly the same market (Locale went the "ease of use" route, Tasker is going the "crazy number of things that can be tested and actions to perform" route)

Tasker is much earlier in its development lifecycle than Locale (it's only about half way through the Beta cycle)

Which means that it needs to be considered with a grain of salt, yet, but the Author is planning to release at around the $3/$4 mark when the app is ready to come out of Beta.

I forgot to mention: the idea of Locale is an absolutely killer-app for any (smart-)phone - *if* it works flawlessly.

I agree to Mike's opinion about the pricing.

Although I would not hesitate to pay 15$ if all plugins were included *and* Locale would support the well established CyanogenMod.

Besides, v1 seems to have more bugs than the beta version because lots of things were introduced to v1 and they were not tested with any beta-version which was available for free.

This uncertainty kept me from buying yet. I'll still stick to the beta version (no money wasted if it got problems with CyanogenMod) and keep an eye on the user comments for v1 and CyanogenMod. To tell people that CyanogenMod has to be the incompatible part does not get anybody further.

In short: for ten bucks I expect "more".

The bad part is that the Apps market gives you only 24 hours to evaluate something before deciding if you want to keep it or get a refund. That's an awfully tight schedule to try to test everything, and for that price I'd want to make DARN sure it was working FLAWLESSLY.

For $2 I would have bought it without a second thought.

For $5 I would have cringed, thought about it for a while, but probably would buy it in the end.

At $10, I'm looking around at other options. If nothing pans out, then I may be forced to come back and bite the bullet, but there is at least one that looks promising.

Yeah, it's frightening isn't it. I still can't believe that price. I'm also surprised that some of the TwoFortyFourAM Locale plugins have to be purchased. I wouldn't mind so much about the $10, but to then have to pay $1 each for the Shortcut, Headphone, SMS, and Airplane plugins is ludicrous.

Carter, why not offer two versions - one free (with the plugins paid-for) and the $10 version (with all of the plugins included for free)?

Oops... I was just following updates whenever the Android Market notified me that an update is available, and I missed that Locale went from Beta to Release.

I'll grab the paid app and see if things are working again after that.

Since the last update to Locale, some things have stopped working correctly, but I am not able to find a venue to see if I've done something dumb, or if there is a real issue.
