Indicate which situations are active
On the Locale situation list, visually indicate which situations are currently active.
This feature was added in Locale 0.38 beta on 12/10/2008.

Could this also be included in the notification bars dropdown menu (under Ongoing processes), or at least give this as an option?

This would seriously save me headaches. It also would allow you to self troubleshoot if something is not working. For example a Location Condition might not be working because selected area is too small but it is hard to know if maybe it just has not updated yet, or maybe if GPS just does not have line of sight to sattelite. This would allow people to perfect their conditions better.
