        There is a third party plug-in that accomplishes this. The “Locale Plug-in Appli Detection” is available on the Android Market in all countries that support paid apps.

        I think that this would be a great addition. If I am at home and open the browser, turn on wifi. If I open a navigation program, enable gps. Ideally the condition could distinguish between app open and app active (foreground). This would also require a close/background condition.
