We’re investigating whether a Voice call volume setting makes sense.
Although a 3rd party developer has implemented the “Locale AllVolumes Plug-in” we strongly discourage using this plug-in because it is extremely buggy. This plug-in may appear to work correctly, but will actually fail in many circumstances. For example: it does not set ringer or notification volumes correctly and may cause the ringer or notifications to go off unexpectedly, it does not correctly perform backup and restore across different devices, and may set all volumes to the incorrect level.

Locale 3.0 now includes a built-in Media Volume setting.
For those who are looking for Voice or Alarm volume settings, I’ve created two new requests. Please cast your votes there.

I would like to be able to centrally control ALL of the volumes based on one of two conditions, either the Dock, or Headphones. What i would like to happen is for there to be a user defined standard set point for all volumes so that i can use GPS, listen to Pandora Radio, and take phone calls while driving. currently i have to separately adjust three volumes in order to balance them. how much better would it be to have them set automatically once the Droid determines that i have plugged the phone into the car radio, or it determines that it is in the car dock? then all i would have to do is set the radio volume to a comfortable level and pay attention to the road. PLEASE get this done. i installed the dock and the headphone plug-in, but uninstalled them when i realized that they cannot control the media, GPS, and in-call volumes.
Great, we now can control the media volume when docked. how about the rest of the relevant volumes, like In Call volume and GPS volume?
