        There is a third party plug-in that accomplishes this. The “Locale Plug-in Appli Detection” is available on the Android Market in all countries that support paid apps.

        I desperately want this so I can set a situation to not turn off the display when Pandora (or any other music player) is running when plugged in (usually in my car - so I don't have to fumble for my phone to see what song is playing).
